Jacek Juriewicz - Carpe Diem
“Carpe diem” – a retrospective of Jacek Juriewicz’s paintings in the Marshal’s Office.
On June 18, the opening of an exhibition of paintings by Szczecin artist Jacek Juriewicz took place in the M-Gallery of the Marshal's Office of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Szczecin.
The exhibition "Carpe diem" is a retrospective look back at Juriewicz's work and shows two main trends in his artistic path. The first of these are portraits of women, which the exhibition's curator, Jolanta Gramczyńska, calls "psychological landscapes".
They are impressive images of human experiences, captured in difficult and beautiful, everyday situations. The artist does not strive to reproduce the models faithfully, but rather conveys his own feelings, thoughts and memories, thus creating a pictorial story about human moods.
The second trend is landscapes, which are an expression of the search for peace and inspiration in nature. In contact with nature, the artist finds balance and inner equilibrium, which is reflected in dynamic, cheerful compositions permeated with vibrant colors.
Jolanta Gramczyńska encourages the viewer to pay attention to multicolour, composition, arrangement of lines and shapes, as well as the way of applying paint with a brush and emphasizes this
Both Juriewicz's portraits and landscapes "vibrate naturally with expression"
Jacek Juriewicz's work is deeply rooted in personal experiences, as well as his passion for art history and his exceptional aesthetic sensitivity. It is a proposal to live boldly and create according to one's own ideas, and at the same time a picturesque story about man and his relationship with nature.
