JACEK JURIEWICZ
Poland
Jacek Juriewicz was born in 1966 in Szczecinek Voivodeship, West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
His interest in art, especially painting and drawing, was already evident in his youth when he attended the art high school in Koszalin.
In the mid-1980s he devoted himself entirely to painting.
He took private painting and drawing lessons from Andrzej Bereziański, Ewa Jędrzejewska-Drygas and Wiesław Adamski.
The paintings created in the second half of the 1980s are characterized by catastrophism. This period lasted about 10 years and was crowned by numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. Later, realistic tendencies appeared in Jacek Juriewicz's work - landscapes and architecture of his hometown.
In the new century, his interests change. There is an interest in the human figure, primarily nudes and portraits, but also in nature. The artist's works are characterized by high aesthetics and expressiveness, which are revealed in the combination of bright, colorful dots, due to which the viewed images (mainly portraits, nature) give the impression of dream visions or images taken from fantasy, rather than from nature.
